Director of Solutions (Manchester, CT)

Summary:

Scan-Optics has an immediate need for an energetic, independent individual who also works well as part of a team. The position is primarily a product development and resource management role, with responsibility for managing an automated product line. The Director of Solutions will define and deliver customer solutions on schedule and within budget; working closely with and providing support to outbound marketing team to drive solutions into markets. In addition, the Director will execute new product or product enhancement development plans for core automation products that align with present and future strategic business plans, ensuring timely product introduction.  

Degree & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in software engineering/technical discipline.  Advanced degree(s) a plus.

 Industry/Product Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in software solutions development and program management with progressive increase in responsibility and size of programs.

 Technical/Functional Expertise:

  • Custom solutions experience
  • Conceptualization of emerging market solutions
  • Interpret customer needs/requirements and translate into solutions
  • Create product requirement definition
  • Program management of customer specific and development programs
  • Experience with selection and management of third party suppliers
  • Ability to identify and prioritize the technical strengths and weaknesses of products
  • Benchmark competitors to perform competitive analyses
  • Develop Strategic Technical Product Roadmaps
  • Manage product cost
  • Ensures product meets all quality requirements
  • Ensures product meets all system performance requirements
  • Ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings of products
