Senior Application Developer (Manchester, CT)
Job Description
Overall Responsibilities:
Scan-Optics turns paper documents into accurate, intelligent information for our customers. We do whatever it takes to provide flexible solutions that speed up workflow, increase productivity, enhance revenue and control the costs associated with capturing, sorting and routing data from documents. We aim to exceed expectations, every time, in the quality of all our services and products.
We currently have an immediate need for an energetic, creative, independent individual who also works well in a team environment. Duties will include software setup, configuration, customization, and documentation.
Requirements
Experience and Skills:
- Five years or more working in pre and post sales software application development
- Minimum 5 years experience with Microsoft C#.Net
- Minimum 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL database and T-SQL
- Minimum 2 years experience with ASP.Net, XML, style sheets, SOAP, WCF, WPF
- Working knowledge of Java
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic
- Experience with image-based document processing, management, work-flow systems, and/or Enterprise Content Management Systems
- Working knowledge of Oracle a plus, but not required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Workflow a plus, but not required
- Experience interfacing with IBM AS400 and other mainframe hosts a plus, but not required
- Must have strong customer communication skills, related to:
- Requirements discovery
- Requirements validation and articulation with and to with clients and partners
- Solutions Design
- Installation and Post Installation support
- Basic Project Management Skills
- Experience working closely in Joint Partnership with key software vendors
- Can work independently with strong self initiative as well as with a team

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
- 2-3 years working with MS development & infrastructure technologies
- 5+ years development experience with Microsoft platforms, including C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, or ASP.NET
- 5+ years programming experience
- Systems integration experience
- Exposure to all aspects of the software development lifecycle
