Thomas Rice: Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Rice joined Scan-Optics in April 2011. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Rice held senior level positions most recently with Thomson Reuters Healthcare where he was the EVP, General Manager for Physicians' Desk Reference. He went to PDR to reposition the company from a print centric to an information centric focus and successfully accomplished his objectives in less than 18 months. Previously, Mr. Rice served in various high-ranking positions at Reader's Digest and PRIMEDIA. A creative leader, known as a team builder and developer of senior management talent, Tom has a history of driving growth. Mr. Rice earned a Bachelor's Degree from Notre Dame.
Stacie Wolf: Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Wolf joined Scan-Optics in December 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Scan-Optics, Ms. Wolf held senior level positions with Motorola, Barnes Group and most recently Sensus USA. She began her career in finance with Deloitte in their auditing group. A versatile leader with experience in finance, general management and operations, Ms. Wolf is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and BSBA in Accounting from Duquesne University.
Raymond Parker: Executive Vice President, Sales and Business Development
Mr. Parker has nearly 20 years of successful US and international operations, sales and marketing management leadership experience in the digital imaging, document management and BPO services industries. This includes five years in Europe with Pitney Bowes Management Services as President, International Operations and prior to that, key assignments with Danka Services International as VP, Sales and Operations North America; VP-General Manager, Kodak Imaging Services, Europe; VP New Technologies Qualex, Inc., Kodak’s photo-imaging subsidiary; and senior assignments with Kodak, based in Korea and Southeast Asia. Ray earned an MBA at the University of Rochester’s Simon School and an MA in European History at Duquesne University. Ray is fully certified in Lean Six Sigma deployment.
Gary Desmarais: Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Desmarais has headed Access Services, the field services division of Scan-Optics, since 2006. He has over 25 years' experience in the scanner business and started with the company as a system test technician and has held the positions of manager of systems test and manager of quality control. Mr. Desmarais was instrumental in obtaining ISO 9001 certification and subsequent recertification for the manufacturing division of Scan-Optics. His current responsibilities cover the direction of the Engineering group, which includes the disciplines of Software, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering and research into advanced technologies for scanning, lighting, optics, and paper control. He holds an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering and has additional training in the quality discipline.
Pete Moralee: Managing Director, Scan-Optics Limited (UK)
Mr. Moralee joined Scan-Optics in March 1983 as a supervisor in our Customer Service area. His progression with the company has included management positions in technical support, customer service, and quality management. Pete was named Managing Director of Scan-Optics’ UK subsidiary in 1996. Prior to Scan-Optics, he held an account management position with Scan Data (now BancTec). Pete has over 28 years of experience in scanning, imaging, data capture, data processing, and document management.
Penny Riordan: Director of Quality
Ms. Riordan joined the Scan-Optics team in April of 2008. Her primary role is to develop and support Scan-Optics’ quality management system and identify ways to improve processes within the organization. As an SAI Global Six Sigma Black Belt, she brings a strong background in Quality Assurance, Six Sigma tools and Lean methodologies. She has trained over 150 Six Sigma Green Belts and over 100 Black Belts for SAI Global, Inc. Penny has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
